Description

In Sanskrit, Nidra is the word for sleep. Sleep is considered one of the most powerful elixir for health and vitality, essential for emotional and mental well-being and longevity. How well you sleep is an important function of your health.

Without proper sleep, your immune system can’t produce the antibodies and proteins your body needs to fight off infections and inflammation. Without quality sleep, you may be susceptible to all kinds of illnesses and threats. Fatigue, due to sleep problems, is the number ONE health symptom stated in medical records, and it is a symptom of almost every chronic illness.

We all know that the best-kept beauty secret is getting a good night’s rest. Besides brightening your eyes, a good night’s sleep can make you more resilient, smarter, and productive. Consistently waking up feeling rested and refreshed can impact everything from your physical and mental health to your overall happiness.

According to the National Center for Sleep Research at the National Institutes of Health, 30 to 40 percent of Americans have problems sleeping. One in three adults in the US doesn’t get enough sleep. Short sleep duration is when you sleep less than 7 hours a night. Insufficient sleep is a health crisis affecting millions of people worldwide, affecting women and men of all ages and socioeconomic classes.

There are lots of reasons why we aren’t sleeping well. Sleeplessness and common causes of sleep disruptions include stress, worry, poor lifestyle habits, poor sleep hygiene, or an irregular sleep schedule. An adult who sleeps less than 6 hours a night is considered sleep deprived. This has increased significantly over several decades as the lines between work, home, and technology have become blurred.

Circadian rhythm sleep-wake disorders are disturbances of wakefulness and sleep and are a symptom of being out of balance with earth rhythms. The sleep-wake cycle refers to the pattern of time we spend awake and asleep every 24 hours. Disruptions often cause difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, and sleeping at typical times. Fatigue due to sleeplessness may cause daytime sleepiness and chronic fatigue. The sleep-wake cycle can be improved through better sleep hygiene.

Some people experience short periods of dysregulated sleep for a few days or weeks, while others have problems sleeping for months at a time. Insomnia is a sleep disorder characterized by having trouble falling and or staying asleep. As a matter of fact, insomnia often coexists with physical illnesses, pain, and a sedentary lifestyle. Nervous system conditions like ADHD excitability and mental health conditions such as trauma, depression, and anxiety may coexist along with hormonal abnormalities. The presence of one often intensifies the other.

Clearly, the effects of a lack of sleep can have very serious consequences. Most people know firsthand that sleep affects their mental state. After all, there’s a reason it’s said that someone in a bad mood “woke up on the wrong side of the bed.”

Our lifestyle choices keep us up at night. The brain never stops working, and its neurological processes generate waste. Recent studies have discovered that special lymph channels in the brain called the glymphatic system turn on when people sleep. It functions to efficiently eliminate soluble proteins and metabolites from the central nervous system that have accumulated during wakefulness. Metabolic cleaning of the brain is one of the key reasons for the necessity of sleep and is essential to keep all our systems healthy.

Fleur Nidra Rest and Restore Oil’s alchemical blend is formulated with a proprietary combination of Jojoba and St. John’s Wort herbal oil to positively enhance the parasympathetic nervous system let-down response. Vibrational flower essences energetically support mind-body relaxation when the nervous system has been chronically overstimulated.

The synergy blend of Clary Sage, Spikenard, Valerian, and Vetiver essential oils are known for their calmative soporific effects and have traditionally been used in folk medicine to help regulate the sleep-wake cycle. The warm earthy aroma encourages deep nervous system relaxation. Paired with the sweet floral aromas of Neroli and Ylang Ylang essential oils, this blend may balance the brain and the limbic system.

Nidra Rest and Restore Oil’s temporary use may help you to fall asleep more quickly, sleep more soundly, and wake refreshed and energized.
