“Even though you may want to move forward in your life, you may have one foot on the brakes.
In order to be free, we must learn how to let go. Release the hurt. Release the fear. Refuse to entertain your old pain.
The energy it takes to hang onto the past is holding you back from a new life.
What is it you would let go of today?
–Mary Manin Morrissey
Can you feel it?
Winter is letting go of its grip. The birds are singing in the golden light of dawn.
Light is returning yet again. The season is changing. The days are getting longer, and the gentle touch of spring warmth embraces my skin.
Just this week, the dusty blue brilliance of blooming ceanothus covers the beautiful green hills of the coastal inland valleys.
As we approach the Spring Equinox this month, the seeds underground are awakening and expanding, reaching for more light and space.
The expanding happiness I feel to witness the change in seasons fills my heart and energizes my life!
In this blog post, I will discuss how you can find the freedom to be yourself by utilizing the transitional Spring season to gain renewed energy and vitality.
You can achieve this by incorporating flower helpers and aromatherapy alchemically formulated in Release Spray. This Spray can assist you in letting go of negative thoughts and emotions, allowing positive energy to flow in.
It’s time to release, refresh, and renew.
March Magic
My senses delight as I align with nature’s magic!
Spring Equinox’s magical threshold helps me take a break and identify what habits or ways of being I may be overindulging in. “Pausing” at the Equinox to hold space for change within and around me, I align with the Sun’s and Earth’s cosmic energies.
The transitional pause from one season to the next can take many forms unique to each person. For myself, the gateway of the Spring Equinox helps me become more aware of what I am energizing on all levels of my being.
Importantly, this month, I shine my light on the “invisible imbalances” most often hidden from my awareness. The imprints, habits, patterns, and ways of working, living, and succeeding can drive me to be overwhelmed, burnout, and self-sacrifice.
Then, I take stock and reevaluate—first for myself and then for those I guide and influence.
I take the opportunity to adjust to the new changes and integrate new values into my daily life. I come together to co-create a life that empowers me to achieve more with less and make a more significant impact with my sacred purpose to assist others waking up.
During the spring Equinox magic moment, we all can reflect on how our lives have unfolded, understand who we are becoming, what we contribute, and how we care for ourselves.
Letting Go and Letting In
Life is a process of letting go. And it is a process of “letting in.”
I know it’s easy to say, and I know from experience that letting go is not easy. It is our nature to grasp and cling to what we have and crave what we don’t.
Letting go has been a recurring theme in my own life, but so has been the invitation to let in.
I ask myself, what can I let go of? What can I invite in?
I dramatically increase my joy and inner peace when I release my habitual thoughts and reactions, expectations and desires, and circumstances I can’t control. I inhabit a self more aligned with authenticity, purpose, and happiness.
Becoming Who We Are
What if, at the end of each day, you could feel fulfilled, grateful, and happy instead of being exhausted, frustrated, or disappointed from dealing with one struggle after another?
All of us are on a journey of becoming. Our lives are a tapestry woven from the threads of our familial ties, cultural heritage, personal experiences, thoughts, and emotions. These elements interweave to create a unique, complex pattern that shapes our identity.
We are Nature!
Yet, becoming who we are is a journey of embracing cycles of change. After all, change is constant throughout our lives, nudging us toward something more and shedding our outworn layers.
Without a doubt, knowing who you are and who you are becoming is a beautiful process. Whether you like it or not, you can choose what to embrace, how to identify yourself, and what to let go.
Remembering a Pivotal Moment
I remember where I was in March 1996 when I first experienced a profound letting go that shifted the axis of my life.
I was invited to join a business start-up as I was finishing my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. It was a stressful yet incredible opportunity for me. As a single mother, I aspired to complete my degree while working alongside passionate leaders dedicated to complementary healthcare.
I knew that I was being guided toward a new field of integrative medicine, where I could explore my interests in holistic health and Ayurveda. Combining traditional mental health therapy with holistic, integrative practices could bring remarkable benefits to my future clients.
With this in mind and heart, I leaped at this golden opportunity to let in a destiny that would change my life, helping me to become the woman I am today.
Balance During Change
When we begin to let go, we are often thrown off balance. It can feel like learning something new, such as starting a new job, speaking a new language, taking care of a newborn, driving a new car, or simply changing routines.
Every waking moment is a transition. Subsequently, as the world turns, so do our lives. Why, then, are we humans so uncomfortable with change?
We chase the next thing, trying to fill this underlying void of “not enough.” We so desperately grasp at everything to stay the same, and when change comes, we cling to our attachments, creating more resistance for ourselves.
We wonder, “What must I do to get where I need to be? What supports my efforts to create the life I want?”
If change is the only thing we can count on as guaranteed, the question is: “How can we use it to our advantage to grow, transform, and evolve?”
Letting go takes courage to look and see what’s there. It’s human nature to fear change. Accepting that fear exists, we can act anyway.
When the Door Opens
I was introduced to Ayurvedic mind-body practices through the business start-up while working alongside David Simon, MD, and Deepak Chopra at the Chopra Center for Wellbeing in La Jolla, California.
It was an exciting time. As newly hired employees, we were also encouraged to experience some of their featured Ayurvedic treatments and meditation practices for cleansing, healing, and rejuvenation.
Through a new meditation practice, I learned to make friends with silence. Furthermore, I learned a new scent-based language for aromatherapy to aid in genuine healing through neuroassociative conditioning.
Each treatment at the Center was personalized to meet individuals’ needs and unique mind-body constitution using aromas, oils, and herbs. The therapists focused on clearing the energy channels in the body, moving and dislodging toxins, and balancing the chakras (energy centers).
My experience of letting go happened as I entered the therapy room. The air was infused with the refreshing scent of lemons, which created a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.
When I asked what the aroma was, the therapist told me she mists Release Spray before she works with clients. She expressed to me how much she loved the Spray. She claimed that it helped guests at the Center release their resistance and tap into their own healing response.
Surprisingly, within moments, I felt the stress of the new job melting away even before she began the abhyanga massage.
Maggie’s Magic Spray
Release Spray was created by my dear friend, mentor, and flower essence energy healer, Maggie Smith. It contained lemongrass essential oil infused with wildflower essences.
I was intrigued, so I met up with Maggie to learn more about the wildflower essences in this formula and how they could benefit me and others.
Thus, I began my journey of learning about Flower Essence Therapy and the invisible but profound aspects of vibrational healing to create balance and harmony in body, mind, and spirit.
Shake it Loose with Wildflowers
Western Australia is home to many flowering plants that brighten the landscape even in winter. The wildflowers found in Australia have a unique cultural story that dates back to ancient times.
Flower Essence Therapy is an ancient healing discipline with its oldest living tradition with the Nyoongah Aboriginal people of the Southwest of Australia. As part of their cultural healing practices, they discovered the therapeutic value of flower essences as effective emotional healers. The vast array of flower helpers has quick and powerful effects and is extensively used in healing rituals and times of celebration.
Release Spray is formulated with Australian wildflowers and organic essential oils that release stress, disharmony, energetic blocks, old habits, regrets, and thinking patterns. The essences connect the physical body by resonating with the chakras and subtle bodies. Then, the energy flows to the physical body, allowing you to feel more at ease and experience yourself authentically.
Dampiera – The Freedom of Letting Go
The wildflower essence Dampiera (Dampiera linearis) assists in letting go and allowing Life to flow.
Known also as common lobelia, this native West Australian compact shrub has grey-green foliage and tiny bright blue flowers that bloom in spring and summer. It grows on sand or clay-based soils over granite rockcrops, ridges, or flat areas. It is resilient to bushfires and can quickly regrow and thrive after being burnt.
When we cling to rigid ideas of what is right or who we are, we limit our own progress. This wildflower essence assists us in opening with flexibility to new ways of being by letting go of old and outdated beliefs about ourselves.
Cape Bluebell – Freeing the Past
The wildflower essence Cape Bluebell (Wahlenbergia capensis) assists in freeing oneself from old baggage that has no part to play in becoming yourself.
An annual indigenous to South Africa, it is now widespread in Western Australia. It is found on this region’s lower sandstone slopes and sandy flats. Due to its annual life cycle, it can persist successfully on disturbed and cultivated land, flowering from September through December.
The core of personal growth lies in freeing oneself from past baggage that has no role in a vibrant life. The essence of Cape Bluebell assists in addressing and healing past issues that have left a bitter residue on the spirit. It helps to dissolve limiting layers and cultivate openness to new experiences of self.
Hairy Yellow Pea – Patience & Timing
The wildflower essence Hairy Yellow Pea (Gompholobium tomentosa) assists in facing choices that you may not be ready to make.
The Hairy Yellow Pea is a flowering plant endemic to the southwest of Western Australia. It grows on coastal limestone, sand dunes, and plains. It is a hardy small shrub with hairy stems and pinnate leaves arranged alternately along the branches, with uniformly yellow, pea-like flowers.
We can spend our whole lives waiting to be ready. Reflecting on life can help us engage and learn.
Hairy Yellow Pea is the essence that helps cultivate patience in finding direction in Life, which leads to a peaceful mind. This essence is helpful when it’s time to let go and release indecision. Patience leads to wisdom and determination, consolidating experiences for wise choices.
Hybrid Pink Fairy/Cowslip Orchid – Knowing Who You Are
The wildflower essence Pink Fairy/Cowslip Orchid (Caladenia sp.) assists in choosing with wisdom. Sometimes, we abandon ourselves to make decisions based on our emotions and what we think is best for others or even to please others.
A naturally occurring hybrid, this beautiful little orchid grows in clumps in a wide range of habitats, from coastal heath to the margins of inland salt lakes. It is typically abundant after rain and grows throughout western and southern Australian habitats.
There is a thin line between being in touch with our emotions and lacking the internal compass to navigate our path.
Hybrid Pink Fairy/Cowslip Orchid assists in self-knowledge and the strength to maintain inner peace regardless of external influences. When the Self radiates from the center of our being, we can remain connected to all Life around us, to people and their feelings and needs, but we can choose our responses wisely.
With the gift of wildflower essences in Release Spray, you can let go of unwanted rigid patterns. As you energetically let go, you have a space that can be filled with something new to take root and help you flourish in the latest season of your life.
The Lovely Scent of Lemongrass and Palo Santo
Release Spray’s refreshing fusion of Lemongrass and Palo Santo essential oils’ citrusy aroma may assist you in cleansing your energy field. The power of wildflowers and essential oils combines to release negative energy and obstacles and helps us embrace change with gentleness and love.
Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) has an invigorating “lemony-fresh” smell and is known for its amazing strength of biochemical compounds. Energetically, its aroma clarifies, cleanses, and uplifts, making life easier, joyful, and balanced with our inner and outer selves.
With Lemongrass organic essential oil, Release Spray can comfort you during difficult emotional transitions and times of change, reducing fatigue and calming the mind.
Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens) is a South American tree renowned for its calming and grounding qualities. The aroma of Palo Santo essential oil is a captivating symphony of scents, a harmonious blend of woody, citrusy, minty, and even floral notes. This unique olfactory profile makes Palo Santo a cherished and versatile essential oil.
In traditional healing, Palo Santo is believed to possess spiritual cleansing properties. Shamans and healers burn the wood to clear negative energies and protect against evil spirits. The fragrant aroma connects individuals to the spiritual realm, aiding in meditation and prayer.
I wrote an entire Blog dedicated to Palo Santo. I invite you to read it here: THE BEAUTY OF PALO SANTO IN RELEASE SPRAY
For Caregivers Who Support Others
There are times in my therapy practice when I unconsciously absorb some negative energy. This is the stuck energy of stress, sadness, denial, anxiety, and overall dysfunction that my clients share with me.
Over the years, I have learned that if I don’t clear out this energy, it may take root inside me, affecting my mental clarity and emotional stability.
How do I feel when this happens? I feel anxious and distracted, and I tend to overthink about a particular struggling client. That client’s issues begin to take up precious space inside me.
If you are a caregiver, you know what I’m talking about. Establishing your own mental hygiene practices can help boost your overall sense of wellness when practiced daily. That’s why I’ve added Release Spray to our Compassionate Caregiver Kit.
My mental health hygiene is supported by my routine of using Release Spray in between my sessions. By misting this, I release what isn’t mine and build the resilience I need to be compassionately present to help my clients face and resolve their challenges.
What Can You Let Go of Today?
To recap, seasonal transitions can be a catalyst for growth and transformation. Letting go creates a space for something new to take root and flourish.
Mindfully identifying what to keep and embrace and what will carry you forward in this time of your life is a choice: your choice and no one else’s. Accepting the inevitabilities of change enhances the freedom to be yourself.
If you are a caregiver, clearing out energy that has become stuck is essential to your own well-being.
My invitation to shine your light on the “invisible imbalances,” most often hidden from your awareness, is an empowering choice. Your conscious choice ignites co-creative possibility. Once made, you’ll feel more energized, purposeful, and renewed without the extra baggage.
Set Your Intention & Release Through Ritual
Rituals offer a tangible way to implement intentions. They help me shift my thoughts and emotions, energizing me with a new mindset to take physical action.
The Spring Equinox is a perfect time to implement a ritual to let in the transformative energy of seasonal change. In a previous blog, I wrote about my Spring Equinox ritual: the Spring Alchemy Meditation. It may be helpful for you to read about it and consider implementing it.
By using Release Spray, you can create space for new possibilities and experiences. Take a moment to reflect on your life and identify the ways of being that no longer serve you.
- In your mind, hold your intention to let go and let in.
- Mist Release Spray around your head and body.
- Breathe in the scent.
- Allow the vibrational magic to support your highest good.
- Feel yourself opening to fresh, new ways of being.
- Ask yourself:
~ What am I releasing?
~ What is being unearthed?
~ What is ready to be created, re-created, or co-created?
~ What does Balance mean to me right now?
~ How am I being redirected in my life in these quickly changing times?
~ What am I being called to bring forth ______ into my life and for my loved ones right now?
~ How can I show up for the greatest good for myself and everyone?
~ What is important to me as Humanity steps through this potent threshold?
- Hold this precious moment in your heart. Honor what you have discovered.
- Acknowledge all the ways you show up in the world as yourself.
- Offer a prayer of appreciation and gratitude toward yourself, the world, and any others.
Freedom to Be
“The freedom to be yourself is a gift only you can give yourself. But once you do, no one can take it away.” –Doe Zantamata
Imagine a world where you have the freedom to be whoever you want to be. A world where you are not judged based on your gender, race, or beliefs.
By using Release Spray, aligned with the March magic of the Spring Equinox, you can create space for new opportunities and experiences.
In conclusion, the Spring Equinox is all about balance in the process of becoming.
Today, as we embark on a new cycle, allow the frequency of light to expand within. Through this, our care grows, our compassion rises, our tending refines, and our sacred presence becomes a shining beacon for others.
May your journey be filled with the aromatic joy of self-discovery, acceptance, and appreciation for all the ways you are now changing to be the best version of yourself.
All my aromatic love,
Vidya
