Description

The human Lymphatic system is designed to protect the body from disease and restore health to the body. Often overlooked, the lymphatic system is an important part of the immune system as are the spleen, thymus gland, tonsils, and bone marrow. Besides the immune system, the lymphatic system supports every system in the body including the digestive, respiratory, and nervous systems. Understanding the lymphatic system provides insights into the body’s profound ability to support and detoxify itself.

The lymphatic system is a circulatory detoxification-filtration-elimination system that runs parallel with the veins located throughout the body. The lymph system absorbs metabolic waste, maintains the fluid balance between tissues and blood, and redistributes excess fluid. Integral for protecting the body from illness-causing bacteria and viruses, the body’s elimination system relies on the lymph vessels to remove and drain metabolic waste.

Liver health is primary to the health of the lymph. The liver produces a large amount of lymph, which is estimated to be twenty-five to fifty percent of the lymph flowing through the thoracic duct—the largest lymphatic vessel in the human body. Importantly it also regulates the absorption of digestive tract fats and fat-soluble vitamins. Similar to those in other organs, lymphatic vessels in the liver function to retain fluid and regulate the immune system.

The network of lymphatic vessels, ducts, and lymph nodes filter and move fluid between the cells and tissues. The nodes are connected to one another by lymph vessels entering the blood through a large vein near the heart. They act as filters cluster in the neck, armpits, groin, around the gut, and between the lungs and have an important role in producing and storing white blood cells to help clean lymph fluid from nearby organs.

The lymph fluid is composed of about ninety-five percent water, which is why it is essential to stay hydrated. The transparent, odorless watery fluid carries lymphocytes throughout the body. The lymph fluid binds bacteria and contaminants and sweeps away cellular waste, microbes, and toxins to the liver and kidneys to be processed and eliminated.

Much of the lymph flow against gravity, in the direction from your feet to your chest. Because the lymphatic system doesn’t have a pump as the circulatory system does with the heart, it relies on the physical movement of the muscles and joints to keep it flowing.

Stagnant lymph has become a common problem for many people young and old due to the greater prevalence of sedentary lifestyles, poor diet, and dehydration. Poor waste removal in the lymphatic system can affect almost any part of your body and the health of your organs.

When lymph becomes congested, wastes and toxins begin to build up and it becomes thick and heavy causing the lymph nodes to become swollen and sore. When the stagnant lymph fluid can’t move and cannot properly drain the toxins, it puts additional pressure on the vascular system. Chronic lymphatic congestion can predispose someone to an immune-related disease and compromise the body’s ability to fight illness.

It was recently discovered that lymph health is also fundamental to the nervous system and brain health. This has brought more awareness to issues of aging, memory loss, and dementia including Alzheimer’s Disease. This discovery is sparking more research into the connection between lymphatic and glymphatic drainage and neurodegeneration, autoimmunity, memory, and mood-related disorders.

In general, a soft, tender, and moveable lymph node usually indicate that it’s fighting infections such as sore throats or colds. Common symptoms of stagnant and congested lymph manifest as swollen, painful, or tender lymph nodes, skin problems, cellulite, [LINK] swelling due to fluid retention in the fingers and toes, an increase in colds and infections, soreness or stiffness in the morning, allergies that don’t resolve, dry or itchy skin, brain fog, breast swelling or soreness with each cycle.

To maintain the health of the lymphatic system physical movement is essential. This is where the aphorism “life is movement and movement is life” has real relevance. Basic body movements—bending, twisting, reaching, pulling, squatting, and lunging—along with deep diaphragmatic breathing, will squeeze and pump the organs and the lymphatic vessels to move the lymph through the body.

If you are experiencing symptoms of lymphatic congestion, decongesting your lymph system may hold the key to rebalancing and restoring your health. While lymphatic massage has its own benefits, Fleur Shuddhi Lymph Oil is a gentle holistic method that may help prevent the lymphatic system from a build-up of excess toxins and fluid.

Shuddhi Lymph Oil’s alchemical synergy blend is formulated in a base of Jojoba oil and Calendula infused Sunflower oil. Calendula is a known lymph mover, which helps with immunity and with unblocking swollen lymph nodes, reducing inflammation, pain, and swelling. When applied to the skin, our base oil has the power to encourage lymphatic movement, clear out impurities, and support immune health.

Our proprietary combination of vibrational flower essences energetically clears stagnant energy to help balance the water element in the body. The essential oils in our blend are traditionally known in folk medicine for their mildly astringent, anti-bacterial anti-microbial properties.

Full of plant-based antioxidants, using Shuddhi Lymph Oil may encourage the body’s detoxification system to gently purify and decongest lymph, stimulate stagnant fluid movement, improve elimination and drainage to flush bacteria and metabolic waste from the body, and ultimately, support overall lymphatic and immune health.

Used to target the superficial lymph nodes just under the skin, applying Shuddhi Lymph Oil along with gentle lymphatic massage may help accelerate the circulation of lymph. By manually stimulating the lymphatic system, you:
•  Increase the carrying capacity of the lymph system, allowing it to process up to 10 times more fluid than normal.
•  Increase the flow through the lymph nodes, filtering out waste products, dead cells, excess proteins, and toxins from the tissues.
•  Increase the production of lymphocytes, thereby increasing the body’s ability to fight infections.
•  Activate the parasympathetic response, producing a body-wide relaxation effect.

Moisturizing and invigorating, Shuddhi Lymph Oil is easily absorbed by all skin types.

Affirmation: “I am healthy, my lymph flows, my immune system is strong.”

Directions: Apply Shuddhi Lymph Oil as needed to stimulate lymph flow after bathing or showering. Using a light touch, gently stretch the skin at the node sites always stroking toward the heart. The lighter the touch, the more powerful the effect on the lymphatic system.

Holistic Lifestyle Recommendation: To enhance lymphatic circulation and keep the lymph free-flowing to aid metabolism and elimination
•  Use in conjunction with Garshana daily massage to dry brush the body before applying Shuddhi Lymph Oil.
•  Start your day with a glass of water with some fresh lemon juice to alkalize your stomach and stimulate detoxification.
•  Drink plenty of water throughout the day to maintain hydration.
•  Sip on fresh ginger tea during the day to dissolve excess stomach congestion.
•  Eat a diet of fresh organic foods free of preservatives and additives.
•  Include ample amounts of raw, dark green leafy, and cruciferous vegetables.
•  Eat red foods such as berries, cherries, pomegranate, cranberries, and especially beets.
•  Reduce salt and high sodium foods.
•  Avoid hydrogenated fats like margarine and vegetable shortening. Use Ghee or clarified butter, butter, olive or avocado oil oils to cook with.
•  Breathe deeply to activate the diaphragm and abdominal muscles to push lymph through the vessels.
•  Maintain an exercise and stretching routine such as yoga, walking, light cycling, rowing or swimming to pump and energize the lymph system.
•  Bounce on an exercise or yoga ball while seated.
•  Use a warm compress to bring more blood flow to congested areas to speed the healing process.
•  Use an underarm deodorant that is free of aluminum salts or other compounds. Aluminum is a heavy metal that can enter the blood and lymph systems through the skin and severely challenge the immune system.
•  Minimize how many hours a day you wear tight-fitting clothing that binds or constricts.
•  Wear natural fiber clothing to allow your skin to breathe.
