“Come out here where the roses have opened. Let soul and world meet.”
– Rumi

Happy February!

Today, the sky is clearing, the birds are singing, and everything is glistening with life! With the warmth of sunshine, I’ve noticed that the citrus groves nearby are full of ripening fruit. Along roadsides, narcissus, California poppies, daisies, and the brilliant yellow of acacia trees are starting their bloom.

The past month on the West Coast, we have been inundated with more rain than we have seen for quite a while. In areas of California, the rain has been devastating. Thankfully, my immediate community in Encinitas has been spared. I hope that wherever you live, you are staying dry, warm, and safe.

As we step into February, we celebrate the expansive energy of romantic love and the health benefits of caring for the heart with the heart-nourishing properties of Rose Otto contained in Amore Love Oil and Amore Love Spray.

But first, let’s talk about the physical heart.

American Heart Health Month

We turn our attention this month to raise awareness, especially to women, about cardiovascular health. February is American Heart Health Month.

The heart is the most critical organ in the body as it circulates blood, bringing oxygen and nutrients to cells while removing waste products. It is truly an amazing organ without which we cannot live without.

But did you know your heart beats about 100,000 times per day and about 35 million times per year? The human heart will beat more than 2.5 billion times during an average lifetime!

According to new statistics from the American Heart Association, an estimated 103 million U.S. adults have high blood pressure, which is the leading cause of cardiovascular disease-related deaths. High blood pressure is often called the silent killer. You might not have symptoms, but it’s a leading risk factor for heart disease and stroke.

You see, cardiovascular problems are a significant concern for adults, especially women. There is an indisputable link between your emotional heart and your physical one. Stress, hormonal imbalances, depression, loneliness, and burnout all raise the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Bulgarian Rose Otto is an excellent oil for relieving stress and soothing the heart. As a cardiac tonic, it has a strengthening effect on the muscles of the heart. It also balances the vascular system by promoting healthy circulation and removing toxins.

One study compared the effects of rose damascena oil with a placebo. The study found that topical application of rose oil significantly decreased blood oxygen saturation, breathing rate, and systolic blood pressure. These changes indicate a relaxation response and a decrease in autonomic arousal.

Stress and Heart Health

What’s stressful to one person isn’t for another. Happy events (new marriage, job promotion, new home) and unhappy events (illness, being overworked, family problems) can cause stress.

Everyone feels and reacts to stress in different ways. How much stress you experience and how you react to it can lead to a wide variety of health problems, and that’s why it’s critical to know what you can do about it.

Fortunately, you can manage stress with lifestyle such as:

  • Exercising regularly. Consider a nature walk, a bike ride, or yoga to relieve stress, tension, anxiety, and depression.
  • Making time for friends and family. It’s essential to maintain social connections and talk with people you trust.
  • Getting enough sleep. Adults should aim for seven to nine hours a night.
  • Maintaining a positive attitude. Negative self-talk is a drainer. Cultivating a positive mindset will make you more alert, less depressed, more productive, and better able to solve problems and work well with others.
  • Finding a stimulating hobby can be fun, help us grow creatively, physically, or intellectually, and boost self-esteem.
  • Practicing relaxation. Techniques such as listening to music, deep breathing, meditation, receiving a massage, and using aromatherapy are life changers.
  • Inhaling organic rose oil. Calming and relaxing, rose oil can influence the release of “feel-good” endorphins, chemical signals in the brain that increase feelings of well-being.

By caring for your heart and living a healthy lifestyle, you can help keep your blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels normal and reduce your risk for heart disease or a sudden heart attack.

Emotions and the Heart

The heart’s mysteries include sudden weakening due to physical or emotional stress. You’ve probably heard the saying: “The body and heart are one.” It’s undeniable that experiencing the two-way relationship between the heart and emotions is impossible without addressing feelings.

Emotions travel along the ‘emotional highway’ that instantaneously connects our hearts and minds in a single beat. Whatever stress is in the body, the mind, and the emotions, if not addressed, influences the health of the heart.

It has been well-documented that there is a strong correlation between depression and heart health. A percentage of people with no history of depression become depressed after a heart attack or after developing heart failure. People with depression but no previously detected heart disease seem to develop heart disease at a higher rate than the general population.

Furthermore, research also suggests that young people who experience feelings of depression are at a higher risk of developing cardiovascular disease

Unresolved emotions can have a lasting impact on our lives. By ignoring lingering feelings of sadness, grief, and anger, we risk allowing them to fester within us and cause problems later on.

For example, Sad Heart Syndrome refers to when a person’s grief or sadness becomes so intense that it leads to depression.

A Link Between Anxiety and Heart Disease

When there are heart issues, the body produces more cortisol and adrenaline. There is increasing evidence that suggests a link between anxiety and heart disease, specifically hypertension. In particular, people who have generalized anxiety disorder seem to suffer higher rates of heart attack and other cardiac events.

I have seen in my own practice that when people already have a diagnosis of heart disease, anxiety is more pronounced. The risk of Heart “vulnerability” increases as the intensity and frequency of anxiety symptoms worsen.

It is critical to take the time to prioritize your emotional well-being and address any lingering emotions so you can live your best life with a healthy heart.

The Hidden Heart

The hidden heart is not physical; it’s energetic. You may be aware of the energy center, known as the Anahata Heart Chakra, located in the subtle body in the middle of the chest at the level of the heart.

The Heart Chakra is the gateway to love and self-acceptance, enabling us to breathe in life’s experiences with an open heart. It is what gives us the physical sensation and intensity of our emotions.

When the heart chakra is aligned, you will feel connected to the world with love, compassion, and joy. An open heart chakra allows us to be curious, see all the beauty and love around us, and truly connect to ourselves, our loved ones, and the natural world.

This Chakra helps direct love towards ourselves, enabling us to love and accept ourselves and others. It unequivocally enables the unimpeded flow of love, empathy, and care.

As the heart center opens up, the overall cardiovascular condition immediately starts repairing itself.

An Out of Balanced Heart

The heart Chakra is closely connected with the heart, lungs, and the thymus gland, regulating the flow of energy throughout the body.

An imbalance or blockage of the heart Chakra can often cause cardiac issues like heart palpitation, poor blood circulation, heart pain, angina, and other physical conditions related to shallow breathing, asthma, thoracic spine, upper back and shoulder problems, and lung diseases.

Likewise, with an imbalanced heart Chakra, we may experience other problems. Excessive energy may lead to possessiveness, co-dependency, or an overly guarded heart. Conversely, a deficient energy flow can result in feelings of isolation, lack of empathy, or difficulty forming connections.

When this energy center is out of balance, you might encounter symptoms like

  • Low self-esteem and self-worth
  • Fear of rejection
  • Lack of trust in a committed relationship
  • Weak boundaries
  • Issues with giving and receiving affection
  • Over-dependency in a relationship
  • Avoidant behavior with people who care for you
  • Rigid and unemotional appearance while feeling vulnerable
  • Being socially anxious or shy
  • Being self-critical and judgmental of others
  • Holding grudges and resentments
  • Feeling unable to give or receive openly and freely
  • Lacking trust in yourself
  • Feeling safe in the world.

Nourishing the Heart with Rose Oil

To restore the heart, certain essential oils have nourishing properties that may help the heart heal. The lovely scent of Rose Otto is one of them.

As the ‘Queen of Flowers,’ Rose Otto exudes an intoxicating aroma that captivates the heart and ignites the senses. Furthermore, Rose essential oil has an affinity with the emotional aspects of the heart. The essential oil is known for having the power to uplift mood and nourish the heart.

Many cultures reference Rose as the mind, body, and spirit healer. Some studies show it can alleviate the pain of heartbreak and lift long periods of sadness.

Smelling Rose Otto primarily balances the feeling function of the rhythmic system, particularly the heart, and can restore a sense of self-love after a setback or disappointment.

The Beautiful Rose Valley

We source the finest organic Rose Otto from the beautiful Rose Valley for use in our products.

Located in the center of Bulgaria, shielded between the Balkan Mountain Range and Sredna Gora mountains, the Bulgarian Rose Valley is the home of the Bulgarian Rose and a world center for Bulgarian Rose Otto production.

Sustainably cultivated, harvested, and steam-distilled, organic Rose Oil (Rosa damascena), commonly known as Rose Otto, is one of the most precious essential oils in the world.

Flowers are hand-harvested before sunrise and steam-distilled the same day. Extracted from rose petals, the essential oil has a deep, multi-layered floral scent rich with hints of spice and sweetness, resembling honey.

The aromatic composition of Rose damascena is made up of over 300 chemical constituents, making it impossible to replicate synthetically. It is indisputable that rose oil is one of the most frequently adulterated oils on the market, making pure Rose essential oil one of the most valuable and expensive essential oils.

Positive Vibes

Did you know Bulgarian rose oil has the highest vibrational energy on Earth and holds a frequency of 320hz? It vibrates with the energy of universal Love, unconditional love, gratitude, and connection with the sacred that resides in all of us.

Its vibrational frequency aids in opening the heart chakra, harmonizing the mind and emotions while uplifting the spirit. When the heart vibrates at a new frequency, there is a more significant opportunity for heart healing.

Rose Otto Comforts

Rose essential oil has been revered for its remarkable healing properties for generations. Time-tested for centuries in traditional Chinese, Iranian, and Ayurvedic medicine, the oil of Rose has been historically used to treat a range of health issues.

In addition to reducing nervous tension and improving heart health, Rose Otto has multiple uses in palliative and hospice care. It is the key ingredient in Amore Love Oil and Amore Love Spray included in our Fleur Comfort Care Kits.

Caring for others is a noble task; having the right comfort tools can make all the difference for caregivers. This is why many caregivers rely on aromatherapy to provide compassionate and comforting care in various settings.

Fleur Memory Kit contains Amore Love Oil. Thanks to its potent and neuro-protective antioxidant properties, rose oil has been shown to enhance cognitive function.

When caring for someone bedridden, a gentle massage of hands and forearms is soothing and helps a patient calm feelings of aloneness and fear. Applying a small amount of oil to the heart center can significantly relieve grief, resentment, and regrets.

Caregivers can create a soothing atmosphere in their patients’ rooms by misting Amore Love Spray on pillows and bedding to encourage relaxation and healing. Providing a calming presence can positively impact those receiving end-of-life care’s behavior, mood, and psychological reactions.

As you savor Rose Otto’s beautiful aroma, know that you are restoring healing balance to all aspects of the physical, emotional, and spiritual heart.

The Heart of Rose

There’s a reason we give roses to those we love or to say sorry. It’s the same reason that rose petals are scattered at weddings and other celebrations. The sacred Rose is one of the most potent flowers that brings you from your mind to your heart.

Symbolizing love and beauty, the rose has always been associated with deep, heart-felt, devotional love, happiness, acceptance, and gratitude. The oil is prized for its ability to evoke romantic desire and tenderness.

Rose Otto is the heart of Rose. It’s been historically known as an aphrodisiac for women, as it supports the emotional heart center rather than directly stimulating sexual organs – hence its nickname, ‘Oil of Love.’

Bring a touch of romance to your bedroom by transforming your bed into a sanctuary of love, relaxation, and heart connection with Amore Love Spray. Offer your beloved a sensual massage using Amore Love Oil.
